Apple Ads Attribution Data Reference

Apple Ads attribution fields collected by RevenueCat

Ask RicoChatGPTClaude

Apple Ads is different from event-forwarding providers. This page maps Apple Ads source fields to the attribution data RevenueCat stores and uses. RevenueCat collects Apple Ads attribution data from the app and Apple Ads APIs; it doesn't send subscription lifecycle events to Apple Ads.

For setup steps, see Apple Ads.

How RevenueCat stores Apple Ads data

RevenueCat stores Apple Ads attribution data on the customer. It can use that customer-level context for Charts segmentation or downstream integrations that depend on Apple Ads attribution, such as Asapty and SplitMetrics Acquire. This data doesn't attribute each individual transaction.

When Apple Ads attribution is successfully collected, supported values are published as reserved customer attributes, including $mediaSource, $campaign, $adGroup, and $keyword. Not every field returned by Apple is available through public APIs.

Use the Get a list of the customer's attributes endpoint to retrieve these values for an individual customer. Customer attributes are also included with transaction data in Scheduled Data Exports.

Only fields RevenueCat receives and can resolve are populated. The absence of Apple Ads customer attributes doesn't indicate an organic install or expose an explicit negative attribution result.
